The Great Barrier Reef Aquarium
A fantastic way to see reef life up close with this wonderful Great Barrier Reef
Aquarium. Coral reefs are some of the most diverse and stunning ecosystems
on Earth, often called the "rainforests of the sea" because they support an incredible
variety of marine life.
Corals are living animals, not plants! They belong to the phylum Cnidaria, the
same group as sea jellies. They are made up of tiny polyps that secrete calcium
carbonate to form their hard skeletons. Many corals have a symbiotic relationship
with zooxanthellae algae, which give them their beautiful colors and help produce
energy through photosynthesis.
Enjoy the wonderful world of the coral reefs with water sounds and calming music.
