Virtual Walk - Athens - Greece
The Panathenaic Stadium (Kallimarmaro) is one of Athens' most iconic landmarks
and a symbol of the city's rich athletic history. Hosted the first modern Olympic
Games in 1896 and it is made entirely of Pentelic marble, the same marble used
for the Parthenon.
A stroll through the National Garden of Athens is a serene escape from the city's
hustle, offering shaded paths, ancient ruins, and beautiful greenery. Admire a
variety of plant species, including tall palm trees planted by Queen Amalia in the
19th century. Walk towards the central pond, home to ducks and turtles and find
a mini zoo with peacocks, goats, and exotic birds.
See historical monuments, like the Zappeion Hall, a stunning neoclassical building
used for events.
