OUR STORY
1991
It Started With a Love of Filming and the World Around Us.
I, Tony Helsloot, started The Ambient Collection in 1991 out of love and passion for filming and for the world around me.
Together with Judith Cruz Gamboa and our wider filmmaking team, we travel around the globe to film stunning places and share them with viewers everywhere.
Over time, that passion grew into World Nature Video. What began with ambient nature films and relaxation DVDs eventually expanded into immersive Virtual Walk, Virtual Cycle, Virtual Run and Virtual Rowing experiences.
In our view, the world is a beautiful place. Sometimes we simply need to slow down enough to notice its wonders. Our videos bring relaxation, discovery and the feeling of being somewhere else — right from home.

We love the pureness of nature. That is why we do not add extra colours or use overly artificial effects. We aim to preserve the feeling of the place as we actually experienced it.

Whenever possible, our productions preserve the original sounds recorded on location — waves, birds, waterfalls, wind, wildlife, cities and the natural atmosphere around us.

Long before virtual fitness became commonplace, we began experimenting with immersive forward-moving films.
That idea developed into our Virtual Walk, Virtual Cycle, Virtual Run and Virtual Rowing collections.
Instead of watching a static scene, the camera travels through real environments so the scenery moves naturally with you. These videos are especially enjoyed by people exercising at home, seniors and viewers who simply want to travel in a different way.

Tony founded The Ambient Collection in 1991 from his love of filmmaking, nature and exploring the world.
More than three decades later, that passion continues through World Nature Video, filming destinations and creating immersive nature, travel and virtual movement experiences.

Judith Cruz Gamboa
Judith is a filmmaker and sound recordist for World Nature Video, travelling to destinations around the world to capture both the visual experience and the authentic sounds of each environment.
From waves and wildlife to forests, streets and everyday atmosphere, location sound helps preserve the character of the places we film and makes the finished experience feel closer to actually being there.
UNDERWATER FILMMAKER
Klemens Gann
Klemens captures the extraordinary world beneath the surface, filming marine life and underwater environments for the World Nature Video collection.
Underwater filmmaking requires patience, experience and a deep understanding of the environment. His work allows viewers to experience reefs, marine wildlife and underwater landscapes from a perspective many people would otherwise never see.
Filmmaking can take us almost anywhere — through tropical landscapes, along mountain roads, into busy cities or beneath the ocean surface.
What connects our work is the same principle that has guided World Nature Video since 1991: let the real world be the experience.
