Egg Crab (Atergatis integerrimus) – Preserved Crab Specimen

The Egg Crab (Atergatis integerrimus) is a striking marine crab belonging to the family Xanthidae. It is well known for its smooth, highly domed, egg-shaped carapace and vivid coloration, which ranges from bright red and orange to deep reddish-brown. Widely distributed throughout the tropical Indo-Pacific region, this species inhabits coral reefs, rocky shores, reef flats, and shallow coastal waters where it shelters beneath rocks and among coral formations.
