Land Crab (Johngarthia lagostoma / Gecarcinus lagostoma) – Preserved Crab Specimen

The Land Crab (Johngarthia lagostoma), formerly classified as Gecarcinus lagostoma, is a remarkable terrestrial crab native to tropical islands of the Atlantic Ocean. This species spends most of its adult life on land, inhabiting coastal forests, rocky hillsides, and vegetated areas, returning to the sea only to release its larvae. It is admired for its robust body, strong walking legs, and vibrant natural coloration.

Carefully preserved to maintain its natural appearance, it is an excellent addition to zoological collections, educational displays, museums, curiosity cabinets, and natural history collections.
