Picture Los Angeles on a day without cars—wide boulevards turned into open space, filled with bikes, skaters, walkers, and families enjoying the city at a completely different pace. That’s the spirit of CicLAvia, L.A.’s famous open-streets celebration.
Run by a nonprofit organization, CicLAvia temporarily closes major streets to motor vehicles and transforms them into people-first routes where everyone can move freely, discover neighborhoods, and stop by community activities and vendors along the way.
The event is free for everyone and happens several times each year on a mix of new and returning routes, creating a huge, friendly social ride that shows Los Angeles at its most lively and welcoming.
